Had my last chem lab today:( I really really like chem lab a lot! It is the best out of the three labs:) Haha, chemicals are the best:) I shall work in the lab when i next time:) Haha, so of course i enjoyed myself in the last chem lab:)
We were suppose to carry out an experiment in groups. It was quite simple so after we did it once in less than 5 minutes, wenqi and i were bored, haha:) So wenqi came up with this idea of putting different chemicals in the test tubes and add the universal indicator to see the colour haha:) At first mr yow saw us then asked us what were we doing. Wenqi said we were testing the indicator:) So he walked away. Then after we add the indicator to quite a few chemicals already, the lab assistant came and saw us. She scolded us for wasting the chemicals!!! So we quickly got on with the 2nd try of our experiment. I was so scared that i forgot about adding the universal indicator into the acid! Haha:) Then this gave me another idea:) I told wenqi to add the powder S into the acid 3 times before we add the indicator, haha:) I had so much fun playing:)
The one on the left is the 2nd try of the experiment:) Haha, we added S into it 3 times before putting the universal indicator so it turned green straight away:) The one on the right is the 1st try where we followed the instructions:) Haha, the two shades of green look very nice side by side:)
Oh and the chemicals with in the test tubes with the universal indicator had really nice colours so i went to take photo of it:) From the left: P (hydrochloric acid), sodium hydroxide, aqueous ammonia, distilled water, sulfuric acid and lead nitrate:)
We added tap water to this:)
The red solution is the mixture of all the chemicals in the test tubes:) Haha, luckily there was no explosion when we added them together:)
The purple solution was from ruying and ruochen:) They did the experiment with T and it had this colour:)
At first, nobody scolded us. Then when we were taking photos of the beakers, miss trina suddenly came over and scolded us for using our handphones in class!!! I am so angry!!! Everybody was playing with chemicals but wenqi and i were the only ones that got scolded:( There were others who also took pictures but we were the only ones that got scolded again:( Then i got scolded by the lab assistant when i went back to the lab to get the worksheets that i left in the drawers:( So unlucky:(
But anyway i still had lots of fun during lab today:) I LOVE CHEM LAB!:)
At bio lab (17/04/09) :
Haha, i also had my last bio lab! It's so sad that we won't be having any more lab lessons:( Even though bio lab is not as fun as chem lab but i think i will still miss it:(
Our last experiment, the food test:
The colours are really nice:) The first and fourth test tube i added benedict solution but haven heat yet so no colour change. The second and fifth test tube are for the biuret test. And the third and last test tubes are for the iodine test.
